RIP - MJ

While I agree that Michael Jackson created some fabulous music and he rocked the 80's and some of the 90's - this massive outpouring of grief is way beyond my understanding. For the last 10 yrs or so, the man has been a recluse with accusations of paedophilia and paying women to have his children - he has declared bankruptcy and dangled children out of balconies. Obliterating all that, there is still no need for my facebook page to be completely filled with all these memories of MJ - which is actually a list of his songs and other random facts. None of us knew him personally - his music is what we remember and that still remains - we can still own those records - I think we should all go out and buy it so that his children actually inherit something not just a memory of a King that used to be!

people shd definitely go out and buy his music...but his family wont get the cash until sony recovers the 200 odd Million owed!
the outpouring of grief is more to do with saying 'thanks'- lot of people that did their teens in the 80s (unlike yourself who grew up in the 90s)owe a lot of their fond Thriller was possibly the first international music people heard and/ or owned. In the days when we didn't have cable tv, MTV and the internet, the annual grammy telecast on Doordarshan was the only fix of international music people got all year. And in 84, he dominated the Grammys by taking home 8!

Heh I found this status msg posted by a friend on FB particularly funny:

The Way You Make Me Feel about this is Bad. I guess it's just Human Nature that you had to Beat It... and now you won't Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' anymore. You've Gone Too Soon, and it's tough as I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You - though I never knew if you were Black or White...

I think more than anything else, it is his sad sad life that makes me talk about him today. I was not raised on MJ, but I cannot fathom how his life went downhill.

Finally!!! Someone talking sense. To add to all the sorry mishaps you've already mentioned....this one takes the cake- admitting to sleeping with young boys in his bed in an interview!!!!
